Best Textbook – Human Geography: Landscapes of Human Activities, 12th Edition
If you are serious about scoring a perfect 5 on your exam, then you’ll need the best AP Human Geography textbook. The 12th edition of Human Geography: Landscapes of Human Activities, is the very best textbook you will find to fully learn all the core concepts required to ace the exam.
This textbook is extremely detailed and well structured; students deep-drive into concepts chapter by chapter and have the opportunity to test their knowledge with the exercises at the end of each chapter.
Human geography is often times not a core part of the high school curriculum so it’s a good idea to purchase this textbook and learn all the concepts before you move to review and preparation books.
Best Review Book – Barron’s AP Human Geography, 6th Edition
Barron’s book is the best tool for preparing for the exam. The diagnostic test helps you determine what you’re good at so you don’t have to spend precious time studying what you already know.
Simply reading through the chapters a couple times is enough to get a 4, but if you take the practice tests and figure out what you got wrong, you’re nearly certain to get a 5.
Best Prep Book – Cracking the AP Human Geography Exam, 2018 Edition
You can also purchase Princeton Review’s Cracking the AP Human Geography Exam, 2018 Edition to review the list of key terms in the back of the book, figure out what maps and charts you need to know for the exam, and take 2 more full-length practice tests with detailed explanations of correct answers.
The book also offers tips and tactics for pacing yourself and making logical guesses on the exam, and tells you how the AP makers will try to trick you on the exam.
The combination of the above books is guaranteed to get you a 5 on the AP exam.
AP Human Geography is a very easy exam to study for.
In fact, many students start studying for it the weekend before the exam and manage to get a 5.
However, we recommend you start studying for it at least a month or 2 weeks before and read all of Barron’s book. Do not take the diagnostic exam before you read as it won’t help you.
Take the diagnostic exam after reading and read through the sections relating to the questions that you missed.
Take the 2 practice exams, and then go through Princeton Review’s book and make sure you know all of the terms and maps in it.
Then take the last 2 practice exams, and look over the vocabulary terms in Princeton once again the day before the exam.
